Midweek With Max for April 1, 2025

Builders, Games, and 708M Reasons to Celebrate

Welcome back to another episode of Midweek with Max. This week was dense, fun, and full of great community energy, plus two standout guests doing real work in the Hemi ecosystem. Let’s get right into it.

LendOS and Leveraged DeFi

Mike from LendOS (aka Zipoken) walked us through the next iteration of lending markets: LP-backed loans and leveraged DEX strategies. They’re letting users supply assets and auto-arbitrage across markets. What stood out? Their focus on enabling cross-chain lending, with support for LP collateral from UniV2 and V3. That’s 18B in dormant liquidity that could be turned into leverage.

They’re already live on Hemi, so the call to action from Mike was clear: Try it out. Supply, borrow, and give feedback. Their DMs are open.

Hemibros Launches With a Game

Next up was Asan from Hemibros, who’s dropping the first playable game on Hemi. It’s a 2D pixel farming sim (think Stardew Valley meets Web3), and it’s built from the ground up on the network. Each NFT in the Hemibros collection becomes a playable character. It’s a mix of nostalgia, farming, quests, and community chill — something sorely missing in crypto right now.

They go live on MintPark this week. If you’re looking for non-DeFi vibes on Hemi, this might be your place.

708M TVL and #1 on DeFiLlama

Yes, we saw it too. Hemi just hit $708 million in TVL, making it:

  • #1 Bitcoin sidechain
  • #11 among EVM chains
  • #14 overall

That’s not a typo. That’s organic activity from lending, LPs, staking, and devs showing up. Memes were requested. Hemi Bros were followed. Celebrate accordingly.

Infra, Nodes, and Upcoming Releases

On the infra side:

  • Snap sync is working — full node setup guides are live
  • Daemon refactors underway to make node running modular
  • Ethereum’s Pectra upgrade is in rebase now
  • BitVM + Decentralized Sequencer planned for Q3
  • Meta-protocol notifications and better Bitcoin-EVM bridge logic in the works

Points, Verification, and Airdrop Talk

A quick recap of the Airdrop discussion with Max:

Yes, there will be points for economically useful mainnet activity.
No, you won’t get points just for bridging or transaction spamming.
Yes, LP points are tracked even if the dashboard hasn’t caught up.
Yes, testnet pop miner points are coming.
Yes, verification will start this week.
Yes, tokenomics and TGE are getting finalized.
And no — there is no reward for getting a Hemi tattoo (please don’t).

We’ll say this clearly: we’re building a program that rewards participation with intent, not gaming. So stake, LP, lend, and engage — and if you’re part of it, you’ll see the benefits at TGE or shortly after.

Builder Roles, Rap Gods, and Game Nights

Things we’re working on:

  • Builder roles for folks actually building on Hemi
  • Perks for OGs, Based Creators, and other community roles
  • New NFT drops (open season participants, stay tuned)
  • 3D printable mascot files (yep, Migo might be on your shelf soon)

Also: if you can perform the first 45 seconds of Eminem’s Rap God, you get the Rap God role. Community voted. Not kidding.

Wrap-Up

To everyone still hanging out in the Discord, still asking questions, building tools, testing the game, or making memes — thank you. Hemi’s growth is not luck or hype. It’s because people keep showing up.

P.S. Screenshot people copying our memes and tag us on X. We’ll give you XP.
