Clayton is a software engineer with a deep background in blockchain tech.

Clayton is a software engineer with a deep background in blockchain tech.

Tell us about yourself.

I am Clayton.  I am a software engineer. Historically, I have existed between the software, firmware, and devops domains (with a little front-end development).

Tell us what you do for Hemi?

I am on the “core engineering” team; I help maintain and build upon our “core” software.  This is what keeps The Hemi Network running. I also help maintain our incentivized testnet’s infrastructure.

What is your tech background?

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Master’s Degree in Computer Engineering both from The University of Michigan-Dearborn.  I have spent my career mostly working at startups; I have worked at both software and hardware startups.  As I mentioned above, I work on software, firmware, and devops (with a little front-end).

What is in your dev toolchain?

Whatever is best for the job.

What’s next for cryptocurrency?

The decentralization of the internet and communication itself.

There’s been a lot of talk about AI. How is Hemi working in that space?

Hemi thinks of use cases of itself for AI, but does not think that is the exclusive future of Hemi.  We will be able to support decentralized marketplaces for hardware and software that benefit AI model development and serving.
