Midweek With Max for January 21, 2025

Mainnet is landing in February. Are you ready?

In this episode of Midweek With Max we talked about  progress toward mainnet launch and ongoing developments. The team announced they’re targeting first half of February for mainnet launch, emphasizing that its priority is to ensure a robust ecosystem from day one.

“When Hemi hits mainnet, it’s going to be a mainnet, not a mid-net,” the team emphasized, highlighting their focus on having multiple active protocols available at launch.

On the technical side, the team reported progress on Bitcoin tunnel contracts, with internal testing underway on testnet. They’re also addressing infrastructure improvements and working on OpGeth updates to handle edge cases on Bitcoin testnet.

The points program continues to generate strong community engagement, with nearly 80,000 users completing Demos verification. The team clarified that points will be allocated based on verified unique users, with anti-Sybil mechanisms in place. Each season – testnet and future mainnet seasons – will have separate point allocations, with rewards distributed based on actual participation and economic activity.

The business development team has accelerated partnership announcements to daily releases, reflecting strong ecosystem growth.

Furthermore, the team announced a session on X Spaces “When Worlds Collide: The Future of Cross-chain DeFi” with special guests LayerBank and LayerZero. Be sure to set your reminder

For those interested in community engagement, the team is developing new roles and features, including an AI-powered support agent named Shasha256. Shasha is currently on X but is being tested for 24/7 Discord assistance.

The team plans a presence at upcoming conferences including Consensus Hong Kong, ETH Denver, and Consensus Toronto.

While many specific details about tokenomics and mainnet rewards remain under wraps, the team emphasized its commitment to rewarding early supporters and building a sustainable ecosystem. More details about tokenomics and rewards are expected to be announced as the mainnet launch approaches.

The focus remains on creating a functional, active network at launch rather than just another “economic simulator,” setting the stage for Hemi’s big launch in February.Be sure to tune in next Tuesday at 11am EST for our next Midweek With Max session.
