This week’s Midweek with Max honed in on protocol engineering, developer tooling, and near-term ecosystem updates. As usual, Max Sanchez shared progress across MinerFi, Zero Knowledge (ZK) research, and reliability initiatives, while Rick and the team highlighted community-facing developments and upcoming releases.

On the engineering side, work continues on MinerFi, with smart contracts now being integrated into the backend daemon and further progress made on threshold signature systems and key resharing. ZK development remains a major area of momentum, and the team has achieved full end-to-end ZK proofs of Hemi’s Bitcoin indexing and state transitions.

On the ZK front, Hemi is pursuing a multi-prover strategy rather than relying on a single ZK virtual machine. So, while initial deployments will focus on a primary production-ready prover, parallel work is underway to port core proving logic across additional systems. This approach reduces dependency on any one proving stack and reflects lessons learned across the broader ZK ecosystem regarding defense and system integrity.

Beyond core protocol work, the team is also building new tooling to improve reliability and long-term maintainability. This includes an experimental fuzzing framework designed to stress test EVM behavior across rebases, forks, and upstream changes. The goal is to proactively surface edge cases before they reach production environments, strengthening guarantees for developers building on Hemi.

On the community side, a vulnerability disclosure program and bug bounty structure were discussed, with clarity provided on how reports are handled. The Hemi Ambassador Program is nearing debut, as backend Guild integrations are finalized. Meanwhile, as ecosystem activity continues to expand, with new games and experiments launching on Hemi, the community is encouraged to actively test and provide their feedback.

Capping things off, the team flagged several upcoming milestones, including a dedicated ZK-focused breakout session and the forthcoming veHEMI rewards distribution.
