Midweek with Max opened with a heavy focus on engineering progress across Hemi’s ZK and infrastructure stack as work continues with ongoing optimizations, testnet alignment, and expanded proving capabilities.

The team is actively preparing a ZK miner and proving marketplace, both expected to enter limited beta soon, enabling contributors to supply compute for proving and earn rewards. Early participation will be accessible even on CPU, though GPU requirements will likely define later phases.

On the MinerFi side, the threshold signature scheme library has been refactored into a cleaner, more modular system, with full testing coverage and improved usability. This system underpins the Fast Bridge, enabling secure, long-lived Bitcoin deposit addresses through validator resharing across epochs.

A key architectural theme emerging from this work is the balance between usability and security. MinerFi functions as a liquidity layer that abstracts Bitcoin bridging into a seamless experience, while still preserving strong cryptographic guarantees. The resharing mechanism allows validator rotation without breaking address continuity, and the system is designed for transient liquidity rather than long-term custody.

On the infrastructure side, the team is preparing for a transition to Rust-based equivalents in alignment with upstream Optimism changes. While no immediate action is required, node operators should expect mandatory upgrades within the next few months, with guides to follow. Other near-term items include deployment of the updated PoP payout algorithm and continued progress on broader network components, though some timelines, including the OG role rollout, may shift due to engineering prioritization.

Community updates highlighted upcoming reward distributions, beta testing incentives, and the expansion of participation pathways through Guild. VEHEMI rewards are expected by mid-April, while beta rewards will scale based on contribution quality and engagement. Closing notes teased a potential partner livestream and ongoing discussions expanding Midweek with Max beyond Discord, pending community feedback.
