Midweek with Max: Security, ZK Breakthroughs, and the Road to V2

This week’s session went deep on protocol engineering. The focus was clear: security, zero-knowledge, and the path to V2.

Security came first. The team is cleaning, tightening, and pushing beyond the usual standards. V2 is ready but not yet fully rolled out. When it lands, node running will be simpler, lighter, and more efficient, with pop miner payout changes built in.

On the ZK front, the engineers have indexed the full Bitcoin chain for sub-second queries. Rust code is now being built to tie that data into RISC Zero proofs, a first of its kind for Bitcoin. They called it “spectacularly complex” but said the payoff will be transformative.

The h-bitVM white paper is nearly finished, just final proofreading left. It’s the piece that shifts tunnels from today’s over-collateralized multisigs to a more elegant and capital-efficient model.

Other updates: wallet-to-Discord linking is halfway done, governance tools are being explored with Snapshot and others, and community contests are on the way. NFT marketplace talks are in motion. Liquidity rewards continue.

Max is back next week.
