This week’s call covered an overview of recent work on zero-knowledge (ZK) provability across the stack, resolving upstream inconsistencies, and building a more resilient protocol foundation.
Among headline developments, continued progress on MinerFi, for which backend components are now taking shape. A smart contract layer that will support early prototypes is now under development, and first public-facing testnet iteration is currently targeted for February. This should offer developers and early users an opportunity to explore how MinerFi integrates with the broader Hemi ecosystem.
The team is also building new tooling to improve protocol reliability, which Max highlighted includes an experimental fuzzing framework designed to stress test EVM behavior across rebases, forks, and upstream changes. The system is intended to surface edge cases before they reach production and may eventually be open sourced once it stabilizes.
Several infrastructure updates were also discussed. Preparations are underway for upcoming network upgrades, including parameter tuning and upstream rebases that will be deployed first on testnet before reaching mainnet. While no final builds have been published yet it was emphasized that these changes are incremental by design and focused on long-term performance and maintainability rather than user-facing features.
On the mining side, the updated PoP payouts system is nearing deployment. Contract changes designed to improve data accessibility and analytics support have been sent for audit, with testnet activation expected shortly and mainnet deployment targeted for later this month, pending audit results and testnet stability.
Looking ahead, the team is working towards producing more digestible content explaining BitVM and related ZK systems, alongside a planned engineering AMA in early February that will revisit architecture and protocol design. A deeper architectural walkthrough is also scheduled for a future episode, where the team will map how Hemi’s growing set of components fit together.
